Accepting New Patients
Attending Physician Assistant, Certified
Michelle Hryc, PA-C is a board-certified, AUGS-trained physician assistant at the Pelvic Health Institute of Illinois and one of the most accomplished members of our clinical team. She completed the American Urogynecologic Society's specialized advanced practice training in urogynecology, earned the Outstanding Clinical Achievement Award at Touro University, and speaks Polish and English fluently. She is accepting new patients now at all three PHII offices — Oak Lawn, Oak Brook, and Orland Park.
Michelle Hryc is a certified physician assistant working directly alongside Dr. Johnson across PHII's full scope of urogynecology and anorectal care services — from initial evaluation to complex post-operative follow-up. She brings to every visit the kind of clinical depth that comes from specialized, subspecialty-level training in pelvic floor medicine alongside the instinct to make patients feel genuinely heard.
Her clinical philosophy is grounded in partnership. Pelvic health concerns are common and almost never easy to bring up. Michelle builds her practice around that reality — taking the time to listen first, answering every question, and explaining treatment options in plain language so patients leave the visit understanding their condition and their choices.

Urogynecology for the Advanced Practice Provider (April 2026)
The AUGS Advanced Practice Provider program is a subspecialty clinical training course designed specifically for physician assistants and nurse practitioners practicing in pelvic floor medicine. It goes significantly beyond standard PA certification — covering the clinical evaluation, diagnostic workup, and management of the full spectrum of urogynecologic conditions. It is not standard PA curriculum, and not all PAs hold it. Michelle completed this training in April 2026, making her one of a select group of PAs in the Chicago area with this specific credential.
Michelle's clinical scope at PHII covers the evaluation and management of the conditions most commonly affecting patients in pelvic floor medicine:
The frequent, sudden urge to urinate that interrupts sleep, work, and daily life — often manageable without surgery.
About OAB treatment →Bladder leakage with coughing, laughing, or exercise — or urgency that arrives too fast to wait.
About incontinence treatment →Pelvic pressure, heaviness, or a bulge caused by weakened pelvic support — including conservative management and pessary fitting.
About prolapse care →A chronic skin condition causing itching and discomfort that too many women live with undiagnosed for years.
All conditions →Pelvic health concerns are common, but they are rarely easy to bring up. Michelle builds her practice around that reality. She takes the time to listen first, answers every question, and explains treatment options in plain language — so patients leave the visit understanding their condition and their choices. Her goal for every patient is confidence in the plan and real hope for a better quality of life.
Her philosophy of care is grounded in partnership. She believes patients deserve a space where nothing is too uncomfortable to say out loud, and that lasting results come from education, honest conversation, and treatment plans built together rather than handed down. Every treatment plan she discusses with a patient is coordinated with Dr. Johnson — there is no care delivered in isolation at PHII.
Michelle speaks English and Polish and has conversational ability in Slovakian, Ukrainian, and Russian. Polish-speaking patients are warmly welcomed to schedule with Michelle and discuss their care in the language they are most comfortable using. For many families in the southwest Chicago suburbs, that difference matters — and PHII is proud to offer it.
When she is not seeing patients, Michelle spends her weekends painting and loves seeking out new restaurants and coffee shops whenever she travels.
PHII's clinical and operations team works together to deliver care that is precise, coordinated, and unhurried.
